It all started when Jessica's parents threw her a pony party for her fourth birthday, she
was hooked. Little did they know that would be the start of late nights at the barn, driving to shows and waiting up for the vet when one was to get sick or hurt.
Jessica started out like most little girls in the Hunter/Jumper world for her first seven to eight years in the horse world competing over fences and on the flat; training with Susan Crown and Judy Ripley. When she was looking for a
Hunter/Jumper horse she came upon Stephanie Pair and Dressage. Jessica started with Stephanie’s mother, Carol Smiley, while Stephanie continued her training in France and New York. While training with Carol, she also introduced Jessica to Endurance Trail Riding. When Stephanie returned Jessica started taking lessons with her in Dressage. Stephanie took Jessica to shows and helped her find her first two dressage horses (Ghostly Presence and Diole). Jessica trained with Stephanie for about six years. In the summer of 2003 Jessica spent 4 weeks in Bremen, Germany training with Anky Kehl.

During Jessica's senior year, 2004, in High School she started the Interscholastic riding team at Milton High School. The school's team trained out of In Your Dreams Farm with Keely Ryan. Jessica made it to Nationals held in Massachusetts in 2004 for Open Flat and Open Over Fences (jumps up to 3 feet). After competing in the IEA Nationals Jessica was offered a $7,500 scholarship to Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Virginia by a scout to be a part of their Nationally ranked equestrian team. Instead, Jessica chose to stay in state so that she could keep her horses with her.

In the spring of 2005, Jessica earned her Bronze Medal in Dressage. In the spring of 2006 she earned her Silver Medal (thank you Diole, a Selle Francias gelding!!)

Throughout Jessica's training she has taken clinics with great trainers such as, Karen Lipp, Roel Theunissen, Adam Lastowka, George Williams, Heike Holstein, Sandy Osborn, Sue Blinks (Jessca was selected to be one of the riders for the Jr/Yr clinic series with Sue Blinks, spring of 2007 with Neron 2, a Sachsen Warm blood gelding) and others. Jessica has also been selected as an exhibition rider for many other clinics and judge symposiums.

Jessica started training as a working student out of After the Fox Farm located in Madison, GA with Roel Theunissen and Adam Lastowka the spring of 2006. She is currently no longer a working student due to lack of time between her newly marriage and school, but she still travels over to take lessons.

Jessica's goals as a rider include what everyone hopes to be, Great! Her other goal as a rider include being a participant in the “Brentina Cup” at the Festival of Champions Horse Show in the near future.
